A little about your teacher…Katie Allman.
I began hooking in 1991 with Dianne Kelly in Hudson, Oh. After learning the primitive techniques and moving to Ashland, Oh., I took lessons from Shirley Bloom. With Shirley’s retirement from the rug hooking world I invested in 40 years worth of hooking supplies and set up shop in my basement studio where I teach classes. I also teach monthly classes in Norwalk and Wadsworth as well as offer retreats in Lakeside, Oh. and Zoar, Oh. I enjoy attending rug workshops and teacher’s workshops to continue my education so I can offer students new ideas and techniques. In 2010 I obtained my McGown Certification in Ripley, WV
I have been married for 22 years with two teenage children. I have been a nurse for 26 years, working part time currently at the community hospital in Ashland, Oh.
